New Year's Day : Hakone's First Annual Event and Seven Gods Tour at Lake Ashi and Others
Visitors can enjoy Hakone’s Seven Deities of Good Fortune (Shichifukujin) Tour in the beautiful natural landscape.

2-3 January : Hakone Ekiden Race at Route One
Tokyo – Hakone College Ekiden Race.  Annual New Year Event

3 Feburuary : Hakone "Setsubun" Bean-throwing Festival at Hakone Shrine
After the God ceremony at Hakone Shrine, bean-throwing while waterskiing on Lake Ashi is held.  Kids throw beans at a red demon and blue demon on waterskis. 

16 August : Daimonji Yaki – Great Bonfire Festival at Gora
Daimonjiyaki – Dai Chinese letter burning (16 Aug, lighting at 19:30), is held on the summit of Mount Myojogatake, also called Mt. Daimonji, dedicated to holy ghosts in the mountains of Hakone.
The Chinese character "Dai" is 108m (354 ft) in width, and the preparation by youngsters in Hakone starts two months prior to the festival.

3 November : Hakone Daimyo Gyoretsu; Feudal Lord's Parade at Hakone-Yumoto
Hakone Daimyo Gyoretsu (3 November/Yumoto) 
Hakone Daimyo Gyoretsu – feudal lord's parade in the Tokugawa era is re-enacted.  About 170 people parade through Yumoto.
